Thurnscoe Rifle Club

THE RANGE

 

The range at Thurnscoe is approved for the use of .22 Rim fire and black powder shooting. There is a limit on the energy (calibre) for black powder.. Also FAC Air rifles and non FAC air rifles and pistols can be used. (All black powder firearms must be chronographed and approval given by the secretary before they are used)

 

Distances are 50 yds/50 metres and 100yds which can be shot from prone, kneeling/ sitting and standing.  The range is open to full members at any time during day light hours. For safety and insurance purposes, there must always be two persons present when shooting. Entry to the range is kept locked, two special keys are required for the gates and buildings, these locks are changed each year.

 

 

Thurnscoe Rifle Club is approved for all calibres of firearm as we have access to approved full bore ranges elsewhere.

 

The location of the range is behind Highgate dog track on Nicholas Lane, Goldthorpe. The gated access track is on the right hand side of the dog track.

 

We welcome visitors to the range, please contact the Secretary to arrange a visit.

 

The club has access to a 100yd full bore range at Crawshaw Booth, Lancashire on the 4th Saturday of every month.
